| "we went to SM MOA last dec.3rd and looking forward to have filipino food after being away in the country for a while. Its past 8:30pm and the mall will closed at midnight. So we figure its still early to eat at cabalen. But when we got in, the staff immediately told us that that was the last refill for the night.
But since we miss the pinoy food we decided to stay and started right away, having no staff asking for drinks we settle for water na lang. But I think thats our mistake they kinda forget to refill water and concentrate on serving ice tea to other tables.
when we asked for water it took us 3 different staff and they came after 15 mins. and we are kinda surprise how the service are in the resto. I mean why focus on the tables that have no customers? We notice they were cleaning the resto so fast that we are amazed how fast they are when its time to go home or closed. But so slow to service plain water to customers.
And we were not surprise that they turn away a family of 4 when they came in just before 9pm. After all the owner just loose a couple of thousand because of hard working staff." |

| "There are a lot of claims of truly Italian cuisine especially in this corner of the world where anything with exotic ingredients and fancy names is deemed true Italian. But this place takes you to a place where the true Italian taste resides, with a man who knows his food at the helm, Joe Velardi takes us to the true meaning of dining Italian style.
The place has the best ambiance you could ask for though you may feel a tad bit nostalgic to the days of old when Al and Marlon were playing out a scene in the Godfather and so on and so forth....
Well enough of the nostalgia and wordplay and lets talk food. Real Italian food that is plain and simple yet exquisite as it is. You don't get that much nowadays with instant stuff. From the many choices of bread to their extensive wine collection, you get a true feel of freshness. From the most basic ingredients down to the presentation, all is well and might I say plain and simply delicious.
Afraid it'll cost you, it will but not as much as many premiere hotel resto's and other exclusive places to dine out there with their hefty overhead charges and corkage fees. You can by the way bring in your own wine should you feel like it with no objection from anyone.
Food is one of our most basic needs and having it the way it should be is the best value for money you may get. Give them a line or simply walk in the door for a taste of true Italian Cooking at its best, I'm sure I'm coming back!!!" |
