Padrino Ristorante Inc., Makati
Padrino ... Food, Drinks and Fun
Review by Carlo Cantor
"Luckily for me, just a few steps away from where I live is the Padrino Ristorante Italiano e Bar. Located at the A. Venue Mall along Makati Avenue, this easy Italian restaurant gives you a feel of the italian ambience combined with a fusion of food tastes that clicks the adventurous palate of the not so young as well as the young customers. As you step into the restaurant, you are greeted by the staff that gives you a warm welcome as you are seated. Looking around, you can see that the main intent of the restaurant is to cater not only to fine diners but as well as to those who simply want to have fun as they listen to the music that plays at the background. But for every food establishment, what makes it stand out from among the rest would be ofcourse, it’s food. Padrino in its own right has made its own niche from the famous L’Opera group of restaurants. My own personal favorite would be the Vongole, served with very fresh baby clams. You may also try the Polpetine which is macherroni with meatballs. Aside from the usual pasta, Padrino also offers its home made pastas including duck ravioli and spinach ravioli in truffle sauces. Also in the menu would be especially made pizzas of which the Pescatora is my personal favorite. Served with different seafoods, it truly satisfies one’s taste and not to mention, tummy. Aside from the pasta and pizza dishes, Padrino offers other dishes with meat and poultry as well as a few american style dishes served the Padrino way. After a hearty meal, one can enjoy home made cakes such as the Padrino Chocolate cake that is really mouth watering.Bartender Iman D. offers quite a number of cocktails and mixes and can even make one according to your desire. Just name it, he’ll mix it. For wine drinkers, a line of different wines from all over the world is available. But for beer drinkers like me, don’t be disheartened. It is also available and served chilled to below zero temperature. A thirst quencher! You surely will not regret trying."

Classmate KTV Music Lounge, Quezon City
Classmates
Review by Darcy Farrar
"Please be aware before going that Classmates is not so much a restaurant as a gentlemen's establishment (read strip club) before deciding to take the family. This bar is one of the more expensive choices on Quezon Ave., but is much closer to the style and presentation of equivalent bars in the USA and Australia. Good atmosphere and presentation with a decent menu for drinks, food and "other"."

The Sandwich Guy, Mandaluyong
poor delivery service
Review by Anonymous
"I've never had the chance to dine in any of their branches personally, but when I started working in Ortigas, we decided to call the branch in Sun Plaza for our lunch one day. I called around 12 noon and ordered several sandwiches, baked pots, and pasta. I told them that they did not need to deliver it right away, we take our lunch @ 2pm and wanted our food to be fresh. The girl assured me we would get it on time. 2pm came and went and there was no sign of the delivery guy. 2.10pm I called and the same girl said that their delivery guy left 1.30pm. He arrived 3pm, a FULL HOUR LATE. and when I asked him why he was late since I called so early, he said that he left 2pm. I let it slide at that time, but the incident was repeated THREE times. Then we moved offices and the Sun Plaza branch no longer catered to us. It was now the Eastwood branch. When I called, they said that the minimum delivery was P200. It took them ONE HOUR to get to the office. A few weeks later I called the same branch and they said that they don't deliver to our office. They instead gave me Sun Plaza's number, who also DOESNT deliver to our office. They basically just gave me other branches to call, and the one branch that could deliver now said that the minimum was P350. Something is seriously wrong with TSG's service, and it's not just the phlegm."

Barbara's Restaurant, Manila
Bridal Shop
Review by Christine Templanza
"I'm planning to have my wedding reception at Barbara's since my cousin told me that its a very romantic place. I went there to see it myself if I would book the reception of my wedding there. I can say it is the perfect place for the church is right across the streeet. The ambiance was great indeed, when I went to the restaurant it was like its taking you back to the Spanish Era. I could see antiques everywhere and the music played by the "musikero" added to the mood. Now I'm looking forward to book my wedding here although their bridal shop would open on Jan.30. I just can't wait."

Antonio's Garden Restaurant, Tagaytay
Chaos at Antonio's Breakfast . . .
Review by Ronnie
"We went there on the 27th of December. Group of 13 people. Despite the fact that we called for reservation, the table was not prepared. Our group ended up waitingfor 45 minutes and we were seated in three different tables. Bacon Waffle was too dry and was falling Apart The Side order of Bacon arrived 40 minutes later... The side orders made by the guests, never arrived. They served coffee for six people and will just give you a tiny pitcher of milk and some packets of sugar. Tapa was tough. Omelettes were greasy. They served dessert first, before the main course. When it was time for dessert, they served it without any cutlery (waiting period was 15 minutes for fork/teasponn to arrive) We waved for a food attendant to ask for an ashtray. No success. We ended up finding one on our own (the location of which was pointed out to us by the customer in the next table) I've eaten in this restaurant a few times, but food & service was a lot better before."

Sakura Yakiniku Restaurant, Makati
So Japanese!
Review by cheng hernandez
"Sakura is located at the 2nd level of Glorietta 4. I usually pass by this area but never really got the chance to dine in. A few months ago, I was craving for a Japanese snack (description: tangy, pod-shaped, orange-colored chips). I couldn’t find them in supermarkets nor in Aji Ichiban. Then I remembered Sakura. Voila! They have stocks! One bag costs Php 130, consisting of 4 packs. I got curious because they sell and serve Japanese products. I told myself I will return to this store to eat. Yesterday, I had the chance to finally eat in Sakura. I tried California Maki and Spicy Tuna Sashimi. Verdict? Awesome! The presentation was simple but the food is sooooo great. I am very happy with my Spicy Tuna because it beats all Spicy Tuna I ever tasted. Their serving, one big bowl, is good for four persons. I ate almost 2/3 of the serving. Hahahaha The good part of it all, the prices are reasonable. Food on their menu costs Php 100-300. The Spicy Tuna costs Php 188, same with the California Maki. I am planning to go back soon and try their desserts! "
